Are you SERIOUS?!

It is quite a rarity that something political moves me to blog about it, but this $700 billion bail-out for the mortgage companies disturbs me...deeply. I am amazed at how freely Bush is willing to spend the money of hard-working Americans to bail out companies that lent money to people who didn't qualify for that money to begin with.

To quote this Yahoo! article: "The dramatic drop in the stock market that we saw yesterday will have a direct impact on retirement accounts, pension funds and personal savings of millions of our citizens." To me, this says, "We're going to keep the assets of the wealthy who have retirement accounts, pension funds and personal savings by taxing the working-class even more to bail out these companies who got greedy during the housing boom."

I am quite sure that if my company made poor decisions on what to invest in, GW wouldn't be working so hard to bail me out of my financial ruins. Please, contact your representative and let them know how YOU feel about spending $700 billion of hard-earned tax dollars.

The Greatest Show on Earth...

I must have led a deprived childhood, because when I told Brian that I had never been to the circus, we were out the door in 15 minutes flat!

The elephants were really the only things that stood still long enough for me to get a photo without a flash, but the entire show was AMAZING!

I was truly overjoyed to see how entertained Mason was with every little show that was performed. There is nothing more special than the genuine laughter of a child!

I had my reservations about clowns (partly because you never hear of anyone that "likes" them), but they were pretty funny!

Not unlike Les Miserables, if you have not seen Barnum and Bailey's circus, you MUST go. It is unlike anything I have ever seen before!

Mason-ism:

In teasing Mason about growing up I asked, "Mason, can you stay a little boy forever?"

Mason replied, "No, I need to grow up."

I curiously asked him, "Why do you need to grow up?"

"So I can get a job", he said.

I think he's off to a good start in this world, yes?

Les WOW!

I hadn't gone to a live show since the last one I was actually IN! I have never seen a live musical performed by professional actors/musicians until last night when some friends and I went to see Les Miserables. In a nutshell, WOW!

What a great show to get me addicted to live shows!!! What a great motivation to find a community theater to be a part of. Seeing Les Miserables really made me realize how much I miss being on stage and how much I miss singing (other than in the car or shower).

The music was so powerful...the voices of the actors/actresses were so emotional! I think I teared up a few times. Yes, me...the block of stone. If you haven't seen Les Miserables yet and enjoy musicals or stage performing; you MUST go!!!
